The War in Sudan, Explained
The war in Sudan is a power struggle between General Abdal Fata Al Bahan of the Sudanese Armed Forces and Muhamed Hamdan Dglo (HTI), head of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The conflict has escalated into brutal ground battles, with the RSF seizing control of large parts of the country. The RSF is accused of committing atrocities and possibly genocide against non-Arab tribes, with the UN estimating 10 to 15,000 people were killed last year in two massacres.
